Jailhouse Hard Time
Jailhouse Hard Time is anĀ American Barleywine. This bottle has been aged about one year, no bottle date, I’m just guessing from when I bought it. This is a pretty solid barleywine, nothing out of the ordinary, but it was enjoyed by all at the table with dessert as the last round of the evening. A solid caramel malt base is complimented nicely by spicy hops. I got a sense of the hop harshness you get from some un-aged barleywines, so if you don’t like that I would sit on a bottle of this for at least a year if not a little longer. Relatively inexpensive, this is a great barleywine to stock up on and have on hand to pull from your cellar. As of right now this was also a one time release, so be on the lookout and grab a few bottles if find yourself in the Atlanta area.
