The Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit
The Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit is a Witbier. This Summer seasonal showed up in the spring here in Savannah (bottled 7/26/2012), so it is a little old. Not sure I am the best judge of the style anyway so I figured it was worth a go. This beer is brewed with honey and spices and I really like the addition of the honey, it makes me think of a Mead/Wheat Beer combo type thing. Soft wheat, light honey, oranges, and mild spice make up the flavor profile for me. It is very refreshing and easy to drink, and although I usually like more complexity in a beer, I am enjoying this quite a bit. The only major drawback I see is the 750ml bottle, this is the kind of beer I would rather see in a six pack.
