Allagash Victor
Allagash Victor is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. This is the 2012 vintage, enjoyed on June 4th 2013, I believe this has been aged just over 1 year. Brewed with over one hundred pounds of Cabernet franc grapes, this is the counterpart to Victoria (brewed with Chardonnay grapes). This has a fantastic wine/beer like aroma, similar to many Dogfish Head Ancient Ales in that way. This is in fact this tastes very similar to Midas Touch to me; some sweet honey, grape must, Belgian yeast and barley. I am liking this a bit more and more as it warms, definitely one of those gateway type beers for wine drinkers who don’t think they can enjoy a beer. Not the kind of thing I will pick up every year, but I will re-visit this again for sure.
