Smuttynose Robust Porter

It’s Throwback Thursday! We have decided to start a new weekly review where one of us will take a second look at a beer we love, but just haven’t had in a while. Cheers!

Smuttynose Robust Porter is one of a handful of American Porters that just blows me away. Available year round this beer is properly named, it has a lot of robust flavor. Things start with deep roasted malts, cocoa powder and a touch of sweet dark fruits. More roasted malts on the finish along with a dry roasted coffee aftertaste. An outstanding porter that actually drinks more like a stout than a porter to me.
