Founders Devil Dancer

Founders Devil Dancer is an American Triple IPA. Ok, so I know there is no official style of beer that is a Triple IPA, but they call it that on the bottle and it does fit the beer quite well. The aroma of this beer is outstanding with a mix caramel syrup and sweet tropical fruit. With the very first sip every kind of hop flavor is hitting the palate at once: pine, grapefruit, herbal, floral, onion… I am imagining this is what it’s like if you were to chew on a wet hop cone dipped in caramel sauce. The 112 IBU’s finally hit my palate, giving my mouth a break from the dense syrupy mouth-feel with a bitter tingle. This beer is actually kind of insane… Can excessive amounts of hops cause you to start hallucinating? A sure candidate for aging, but if you’re a craft beer fan you owe it to yourself to try this fresh at least once.
