Short’s Bellaire Brown Ale

I usually like my brown ales super hopped up, otherwise they all become kind of “meh” to me. This one is an glaring exception to that rule. The beer poured a pretty reddish brown color with a thin head that soon disappeared completely. Short’s Bellaire Brown Ale is a fairly strait forward and sweet brown ale. Getting flavors of nutty malts with a good bit of brown sugar, a little chocolate, and a cinnamon like tingle. (although it doesn’t exactly taste like cinnamon, maybe my palate is being effected by the oatmeal raisin cookie I had a little while ago!) Every now and then it is good to be reminded of how nice it is to have a quality beer that is “normal”.
