Le Castor Yakima IPA

I received this bottle of Le Castor Yakima IPA as an extra from a complicated and costly international trade. I’m not sure how much this actually cost me in the end… ugh I’ll try to forget it so it doesn’t cloud my review. Le Castor is located in Rigaud, Quebec and will officially be my first Canadian craft beer!

Holy smokes this is a good IPA! It starts with a good bit of sweet candy malt before the balancing piney and bitter hops arrive. The bitterness lingers well into the aftertaste where it is joined by a nice amount of tropical fruit flavors, mango and pineapple jump out. Totally my kind of IPA here, and it’s only coming in at 6.5% ABV making it easy to enjoy without immediately wanting a long nap!
