Sol: Sun Clock App Review
One of the hardest parts of running (for me, anyway) is getting up in the morning.
When I set an alarm, I fret about it. It makes it very difficult to get a solid night’s sleep when I’m worried about if the alarm will sound, how loud it will be and how many people in my house I’ll inadvertently wake up.
If that’s not enough to worry about, there’s also the “when” of setting the alarm. Typically, I like to be out the door just before sunrise so I can enjoy the lightshow as a part of my run routine. But when is sunrise? My typical workflow is opening my weather app, memorizing the number, going to my alarm clock and editing the next day’s alarm. Yes, it’s a first world problem; but it’s one more thing that stands in the way of getting on the road.
Sol: Sun Clock answers the “when” question of alarm setting. An intuitive, fun interface lets you quickly and easily see multiple sunrise times, the golden hour span and more. It’s perfect for runners – but also photographers, farmers and anyone else that needs a reminder that the sun will indeed be out tomorrow.
For my uses, I set up an alarm that will wake me 10 minutes before sunrise on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and automatically adjust based on my GPS coordinates. That’s living in the future, my friends.
Sol: Sun Clock is available in the iOS App Store for $3.99
