Fat Head’s Hop JuJu Imperial IPA

Fat Head’s Hop JuJu Imperial IPA is a big ol’ hop bomb that is chock full of hops. At the time of this review it’s is pulling in a 99 on beeradvocate.com with a lot of big praise in the reviews, and for good reason! Tasting big tropical fruit and citrus upfront: Mandarin oranges, grapefruit, papaya jump onto my palate. The back end of the hop profile is big hop resin and appropriate bitterness, every now and then a sip tastes a tad oniony, but I can still focus on the pure pine most of the time. Underneath it all is a subtle, but ever present, caramel sweetness. Not too far behind Heady Topper in my opinion, this is an outstanding Imperial IPA.
