Allagash Victoria is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale brewed with white wine grapes added directly to the mash. This review is for the fresh 2014 vintage.
Without a doubt the grapes are the strongest element to this beer. Still a beer, but the kind of thing I’d offer to a big wine drinker. Tasting a lot of grapes and other light fruits, melons, apples and pears jump out at me. Bright and active carbonation and a strong and flavorful yeast strain keep this drinking like a Belgian Style Ale.
Personally I prefer Victor, but this is a nice beer that I would certainly drink again when in the mood.
