Ter Dolen Kriek

Ter Dolen Kriek is certainly on the sweet dessert beer spectrum of the style, although not quite as sweet as Lindemans Kriek. This is rating poorly, and although I also prefer a “true” Kriek with a lot more tartness and complexity, this is a rather tasty dessert beer.

Pours a cherry red color with a soft pink head. Tasting lots of cherry, a bit syrupy and over the top. There is a slight amount of tartness that peeks every now and then, but it is not enough.

Look, it’s not bad, but it’s just not a great representation of the style. This is the kind of beer you have to enjoy for what it is. This is more Fruit Beer than Kriek in my opinion, and can really be enjoyed as one.
