Allagash Nancy
Allagash Nancy is an American Wild Ale, from the website: a sour red ale fermented with Maine cherries and Brettanomyces in 100% stainless, for just shy of a year. The cherries were a blend of Balaton and Montmorrency and added at a rate of 2lbs per gallon.
This has a huge funky nose, I knew right away we were talking about our good friend Brett. The taste is almost the exact opposite though, very little funkiness. Mouth puckering tartness greats the taste buds with a true sweet tart candy like flavor. The cherries are not overly intense, but they are sitting right there in the background.
I would not call this a complex beer, but this thing tastes fantastic! I’m very happy I was able to grab a bottle of this limited release!
