Cigar City Brewing 110k + OT Batch #7

Cigar City Brewing 110k + OT Batch #7 is an American Double/Imperial Stout. About all the bottle tells us about this beer is that it’s an Ale With Cocoa Nibs Added.

The pour is jet black with a nice light brown head. The aroma is fantastic with this beer, it smells like a combo of melted milk chocolate bars and rich chocolate cake that has been iced with dark chocolate ganache. The taste follows suit almost perfectly, dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache, boozy chocolate liqueur. Rich and thick mouth-feel. This is an intense chocolate experience, I’m not too surprised the working name for this beer was “Death by Chocolate”.

I picked up a couple of bottles of this less than 30 days after bottling, one to drink and one to age. For me this is not overly sweet and is very drinkable at this point, but I also think it will benefit from some age. If even more sweetness develops this could end up being one of the most decadent dessert beers of all time.
