Service Brewing Sour Cherry Chocolate Stout
Service Brewing Sour Cherry Chocolate Stout is an American Double/Imperial Stout. A part of their experimental R&D series, this was released in the tap room on Valentine’s Day 2015. 13.4% ABV.
The aroma on this is fantastic, smells just like chocolate covered cherries. I was expecting a sugar bomb, but the taste is not overly sweet at all. A lot of dry bakers chocolate dominates the taste with a perfect amount of slightly tart but sweet cherries coming out as this warms up a little. At 13.4%, a little alcohol burn does make it’s way into the taste, but this is dangerously drinkable for such a high ABV beer.
This could end up being that big one off release for Service Brewing. That one phemoninal beer the creates lines of people waiting for hours to get their hands on it. Especialy if this finds it’s way into bourbon barrels! Or rum barrels!! Oooh I know, brandy barrels…
