Stone Pale Ale 2.0
Stone Pale Ale 2.0 is an American style Pale Ale. The new recipe features Mandarina Bavaria hops.
This is one of the better looking ale ales I have seen in a while. A beautiful golden red color, amazing clarity, and a big fluffy white head. The aroma is alright, but a bit muddled. I am having a hard time getting much of anything other than some basic malts and generic fruitiness. The taste is an improvement. Sweet and bready malt with a hint of caramel as well. The hops bring a little spiciness and hints of peaches and citrus fruits. The bitterness is good but maybe a bit too strong in the aftertaste.
I can’t say that the original Stone Pale Ale was ever on my radar, but I think this new version is very enjoyable. It’s a bit more in line with the more extreme beers they brew.
