Spiteful Brewing Hostile Harry
Spiteful Brewing Hostile Harry is a Russian Imperial Stout, 10% ABV. Big thanks to Jeff for bringing this back from Chicago!
This comes out of the bottle black as night and thick! One of those times when the tired “motor oil” description is actually appropriate. Classic Russian Imperial on the aroma, big and boozy with roasted malts and a little licorice. The taste brings in some very intensely dry and bitter bakers chocolate, licorice, and an oak like dryness that really dominates the finish. It took a while for me to find the base flavors going on, but there is a lot of big roasted malts and the alcohol heat you should expect in a Russian Imperial Stout.
A very nice combination of sweetness and dryness with this beer, so glad I got to try this one!
