Wild Heaven Emergency Drinking Beer
Wild Heaven Emergency Drinking Beer is a blend of a “Pils-style Session Ale” and a Gose, 4% ABV. It is brewed with citrus zest, Portuguese sea salt and lemongrass.
This pours with a very light straw yellow color, and a minimal head. Not a whole lot in the way of aroma, but what is there isn’t bad. Just a mild bit of lemon zip and some hard to smell grain. The taste is actually a pretty good representation of the two styles they have smashed together, unfortunately that kind of creates a diluted Gose. There is a nice bit of the lemongrass and zest coming through, but the salt is lost on me. As far as a Pilsner goes it has not nearly enough carbonation or crispness.
Not too bad of a summer beer at all, but for me this is an experiment that just didn’t quite work out. I think I would have preferred if this was just one style or the other.
