Straight To Ale Brother Joseph’s Belgian Dubbel
This can of Straight To Ale Brother Joseph’s Belgian Dubbel came from a mixed twelve pack I found at my local bottle shop. I rarely pick up mixed twelve packs anymore, but I really enjoyed their Monkeynaut IPA so I gave it a shot.
This has a decent pour with a good looking dark ruby red color, the head fades quickly but sticks around the whole time. I really like the aroma even if it isn’t anything out of the ordinary. Smelling a lot of sweet caramel and figs, a slight bit of banana. The taste is similar but not nearly as intense as the aroma. Big dark fruits flavors of prunes and figs dominate with a mild sugary sweetness. The carbonation seemed a bit low from this can, a few more bubbles would help this from having some of the syrupy feel it has.
In no way better than some of the true Trappist classics out there, but all in all this is an enjoyable and flavorful beer.
