River Horse Hop Hazard
River Horse Hop Hazard is an American Pale Ale, 6.5% ABV.
This pours with a muddled red color, decent head that fades to a ring around the edge and a thin layer on top. This smells like an old and stale Pale Ale, no bottle date so I can’t say for sure. The taste is much better, but there is no threat of a hop hazard occurring here. A considerably malt forward ale with a ton of caramel malts and sweet biscuit, a hint of earthy hop bite on the finish. This beer tastes fine… well, for a Red Ale maybe.
Not bad, but maybe poorly named? Or maybe an old bottle? Wrong style definition? Not sure how to rate this one…
