Southbound Picture Of Nectar
Southbound Picture Of Nectar is an American Double/Imperial IPA brewed with nectarines and elderflower, 9.3% ABV.
The beer pours with a slightly hazy golden color, some light yellow hues around the edges, the head dissipates quickly from the bottle but is leaving some great lacing. The aroma is sweet and fruity with a lot of juicy nectarine coming through. The taste kind of loses me a bit. Tart and fruity with some obvious hop bitterness, slight sting form the alcohol is coming through as well. Not sure what it is about this flavor combo in particular that I’m not into, I have certainly loved other beers that I would have described in the same manner.
Maybe this is a bit too much of a fruit beer for my tastes? Or it could be the nectarine tartness? I can by no means tell you to avoid this one, just like everything else they brew it is high quality, there is just something in the flavor profile that isn’t exactly for me.
