Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo
Terrapin Tiramisu-Hoo is a Milk/Sweet Stout, 8.5% ABV, and is the newest creation in their Reserve Series.
This pours with a pretty much full on black color but with some cola caramel shinning through the edges, light tan head that fades to just a slight ring before very long. I’m getting an excellent mix of mild coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and a cross between amaretto and rum on the nose. I have to hand it to Terrapin, they did an excellent job of creating that tiramisu flavor. Most impressive to me is the mild coffee flavor. It comes out in the beer in just the right amount, not overbearing. Of course there is some chocolate, and a bit of vanilla helps create the marscapone cheese element from the Italian dessert. A bit of alcohol flavor is making this seem like the tiramisu has been spiked with a bit of rum. I have read a few comments about this being to thin, but the mouth-feel to me is perfect. The stout feels light, but creamy… exactly the way a slice of tiramisu should feel. In my opinion the absolutely nailed they feel, aroma, and taste of this beer.
If I see more of this I am definitely grabbing a few more, if you are a fan of sweet dessert stouts I would suggest doing the same!
