Cigar City Brewing Slow As Molasses
Cigar City Brewing Slow As Molasses is an Old Ale brewed with Florida molasses and English hops. This beer was brewed in collaboration with Swamp Head, no ABV listed on the bottle, bottled on 10/21/15.
The beer pours with a hazy golden/amber color with some red highlights when held to the light. The aroma is malty with some slight dark fruits and a generic honey sweetness that could be the molasses but isn’t distinctly so. Tasting some deep caramel malts, hints of molasses and earthy English hops. Notes of apples come out here and there. Everything is wrapped up with a dry and somewhat bitter finish.
An enjoyable beer I was glad to find and tick, but maybe not the best of representation of what these two breweries are capable of.
