Two Brothers Northwind
Two Brothers Northwind is a Russian Imperial Stout, 9.1% ABV.
This pours massive and dark with just a bit of light finding it’s way through the body of the beer. The head from the bottle is perfect with outstanding retention. The aroma isn’t huge, but I’m getting a complex array of roasted malts, chocolate, molasses and black licorice. The taste is similar to the aroma, but maybe a bit sweeter than I was expecting. I’m tasting some roasted malts, notes of coffee, rich molasses, dark chocolate and sweet cream. A big blast of strong black licorice comes in on the finish.
All in all this is a really tasty Russian Imperial Stout, certainly the kind of beer I might grab a few times during the winter months.
