Westbrook White Thai
Westbrook White Thai is a Belgian-style Witbier, 5% ABV. Instead of coriander they use lemongrass, ginger root and sorachi ace hops in this Wit.
The beer pours with a somewhat dark color for the style, a lightly hazy golden beer with a solid white head. A fairly traditional Wit aroma, I can’t say that I’m getting any of the unique ingredients in an obvious way. In the taste, however, is a definite twang of lemon along with a bit of zip from the ginger root. Fairly soft and creamy on the mouth-feel with a rush of carbonation on the finish.
This isn’t the beer that will turn me into a regular wheat beer drinker, but I would say it’s well above average and very enjoyable. The occasional six pack will probably make it into the fridge in the summertime.
