Saison Dupont is a Belgian Saison/Farmhouse Ale, 6.5% ABV.
The beer pours with a slightly hazy golden hay/lemon yellow color and a HUGE fluffy white head. On the nose is a bit of dry grain, honey sweetness, and a mild yeasty tartness. Speaking of yeast, there is a touch of fruitiness, a slight funk, and an almost chalky character coming from it in the taste. More fruity tartness in the taste, I’m getting a cross between apple and grape. Another flavor layer of lightly sweet grain along with a bit of that honey I picked up on in the aroma. Some bright carbonation is being really enjoyed on a warm spring afternoon.
A classic go-to Saison for me, it sure would be great if I could get to Belgium someday and try this when I know it is as fresh as possible.
