Terrapin Hopsecutioner
Terrapin Hopsecutioner is an American IPA brewed with Warrior, Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe, Amarillo, and dry hopped with Cascade, 7.3% ABV. Best by date of 05/02/16. It is hard to believe that I have never gotten a review posted for this widely distributed Georgia beer.
This pours with a nearly clear golden color with some red/orange highlights, just the slightest bit of haze. The off white head is big and fluffy and retains rather well. The aroma has a big sweet malt presence that is balanced by some big earthy hop notes. The taste starts sweet and malty and is followed by a good blast of orange citrus, a hint of pine, and a mildly tingle from a medium bitterness.
This IPA has a nice balance of malt and hops, something that has been getting a bit lost over the past few years.
