Terrapin Watermelon Gose
Terrapin Watermelon Gose is brewed with natural flavors and natural flavors added, 4.5% ABV.
This beer pours with a fairly light lemon yellow color with some slightly darker golden highlights, head is gone almost immediately as expected. The aroma does have an immediately obvious watermelon smell, not much else to report, maybe a hint of grain. The salt and coriander hit my palate first, but they are short lived before some sweet and juicy watermelon comes out of the beer. There is a bit of light bitterness and watermelon rind like flavor as well, you know when you snag a bite of watermelon that was just a touch too close to the rind. As the beer warms up some the saltiness makes a return to the finish.
I’m am really enjoying this, it is a near perfect beer for a summertime backyard cookout. I wouldn’t mind putting this up side by side with Anderson Valley’s Briney Melon Gose…
