Two Brothers A Bretter Day
Two Brothers A Bretter Day is a Biere De Mars which is traditionally a type of Biere De Garde that is brewed in March and is expected to be consumed fresh. Two Brothers kicks things up a bit by using both their house yeast and Brettanomyces in A Bretter Day, this beer comes in at 5.5% ABV. Bottle sent for review.
The beer pours with a pale yellow color with large amount of bright orange highlights. On the nose is a nice combination of orange citrus and brett funk. I feel like the two yeast strains are making up a large amount of the flavor profile of this beer, they are funky and strong. The malt is there and is only a touch on the sweeter side along with some fruity notes of grapefruit and peaches. Surprising to not find more of the orange that is on the nose, but the fruit flavors that are there are a nice compliment to the malt and yeast.
This is an excellent option for late spring and early summer, I would happily sit on a porch or patio with a pint or two of this beer.
