Allagash Little Brett Ale
Allagash Little Brett Ale is an American Wild Ale hopped and dry hopped with 100% Mosaic, and fermented with their house Brettanomyces yeast strain. 4.8% ABV, bottled on 4/28/16, opened on 6/25/16.
This pours with a pretty crystal clear yellow straw color, a creamy white head sits in a thin but dense layer on top of the beer. There really is a wonderful blend of Mosaic and Brett on the nose, with some big fruity notes of tropical fruits, lemon zest, and a mild bit of earthy funkiness. The taste is light but flavorful with fruity flavors of pineapple, mango, melon, grass and hay, lemon zest, and a lingering dry finish with just the slightest Brett character. Excellent lacing and a light and bubbly feel finish off this tasty little beer.
Wow, what a perfect summertime brew; low in ABV, a little fruity and sweet, some good yeast character, and a dry mouth-feel that makes you want another!
