This beer has a really pleasant red color with some golden highlights, a good white head on top that falls to a nice ring around the glass. I’m definitely getting some fruitiness on the nose that mixes with a good bit of classic Saison funkiness. A nice chunk of spicy rye makes it onto the nose as well, a complex aroma that isn’t nearly as fruity as the name lead me to think it would be. A near perfect mix of blackberry tart and sweet and spicy rye on the taste. The wild yeast used in this beer is adding a good bit of earthiness and mild barnyard funk. It all comes together amazingly well.
I was really worried this was going to be too fruity and sweet when it showed up, but the fact of the matter this that this beer is pretty much perfect.
