Victory Cage Radler
Victory Cage Radler is a Radler-style Shandy, 3% ABV. Enjoy by date of 10/10/16 on the bottom of the can.
The beer portion of this is simply called a Lager on the can and is brewed with pilsner malt and Tettnang Mittelfruh hops. It is not clear what the lemonade aspect of this beer is. I’m not sure if this is a true 50/50 mix of beer and sparkling lemonade, or if the lemon flavor was created using brewing methods. What I do know it that this does pour with a cloudy lemon yellow color you would associate with lemonade, and a big active white head that fades pretty quick. Sweet and sugary on the nose with some strong lemon, not much at all in the way of typical lager aroma. Light and refreshing, but maybe a little bit on the sweet side. Once again I’m not getting much beer in this beer, but I think there is just a hint of hop bite on the finish.
Although I’ve been handed the occasional Shandy, I don’t have a lot of experience with beers mixed with sodas. The point seems to be a low ABV beverage that is fun and refreshing; if your looking for that, I’d say this certainly fits the bill. This is enjoyable for what it is, but I think I would like a bit more tartness which would make this even more refreshing!
