Rogue Cold Brew IPA
Rogue Cold Brew IPA is an American IPA blended with 200 gallons of Stumptown Roasters’ Cold Brew Coffee per batch, 7.5% ABV. No bottle date can be found.
The beer pours with a somewhat hazy reddish brown color and a big fluffy tan head that has incredible retention. The appearance looks to become more cloudy when the massive amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle comes loose with future pours. The aroma has an interesting combination of caramel cover nuts, chocolaty coffee and mild pine hops. The IPA comes out in the taste in the beginning with some caramel malt, a little orange citrus and pine hop notes. Just as I think the coffee is only a gimmick it comes out strong toward the end of the taste. The coffee mixes nicely with the caramel malt and some pine and bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.
A bit disjointed in the taste, but overall I found this to be a highly enjoyable coffee IPA.
