Burial Beer Company Shadowclock Pilsner
Burial Beer Company Shadowclock Pilsner is a German-style Pilsner brewed with German malts and American corn, 5.5% ABV. Canned on 12/08/16, opened on 02/18/17.
The beer pours from the 16 oz can with a clear golden yellow color. A nice white head settles with some impressive retention for the style. The aroma is a bit doughy and sweet with some mild herbal hop notes. It’s a pleasant aroma and I can’t really think of anything else a Pilsner like this should have on the nose. The taste is a touch on the sweeter side with some distinct notes from the corn used coming through. A little sweet cream corn is mixed with grain and spicy Noble type of hops. Enough hop bitterness to do it’s job, they are keeping this from getting a little too sweet. I’m getting a lingering hop/yeast spiciness on the finish which isn’t something I look for in a Pilsner.
Definitely a solid brew, I could easily see myself knocking back a few of these.
